Mary Varrall, Parlimentry Candidate for Tonbridge and Malling and a long time advocate for male health awareness, is again showing his support for the campaign to raise awareness of prostate cancer.
Mary is hoping to draw attention to Prostate Cancer UK’s ‘Men United’ Campaign, which encourages groups of friends to do something great together and help beat prostate cancer. It is hoped that the campaign will help to establish real change, from more effective testing to better treatments.
Current figures show that every hour one man dies from prostate cancer – that's more than 10,000 men every year. Every year, over 40,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer and there are currently over 250,000 men living with the disease.
Mary Varrall commented:
“Prostate cancer is a very often overlooked issue and so it is thanks to charities like Prostate Cancer UK that we understand a little bit more about the disease and we can all contribute to fighting and preventing cancer.
I encourage all men over the age of 50 to book a screening and if you think you are showing any of the symptoms of prostate cancer - please go and get yourself checked out by your GP”
