Liberty Look at Further Extension of Kings Hill

As Tonbridge & Malling's final Local Plan consultation drew to a close, new proposals emerged from Liberty Property Trust for development of 6 new sites. Four of these are within the Kings Hill built-up area; the other two are in East Malling on the new area of Green Belt proposed in the Local Plan. These sites had not been considered as part of the Local Plan, although we understand Liberty will be promoting them at the Public Examination, and at the same time will be submitting planning applications (probably before Christmas). The East Malling developments would result in a loss of green space in the open countryside.

We have posted a link to the proposals on our website which you can view at www.larkfieldmatters.mycouncillor.org.uk As further details emerge we will share more information via our website and our Larkfield Matters Facebook page.

Don't forget to let us know your views on all these proposals using the contact details overleaf.

At Wouldham two fresh extensions of up to 200 homes are also being proposed to Peters Village that have not been put forward during the Local Plan process. David Thornewell says, "It is one of the defects of the Local Plan system these sites can be put in at the last moment so cutting out the public consultation stages of the draft Local Plan process. And for all we know there may be more!" We understand all the representations made will be available to see on the Tonbridge and Malling website at the end of January.

We keep a close eye on the local environment because we think keeping Larkfield in good order makes it a more pleasant place to live. During the last year, we have reported more than 50 issues to either KCC or TMBC - from potholes, flooding, overgrown vegetation, unlit street lights/faulty bollards and problems on the public rights of way network to flytipping, abandoned vehicles and damaged bins. We have also helped a number of residents affected by anti-social behaviour issues.

The flooding at both Lunsford Lane and New Rd junctions with London Rd are on our priority list. We are pressing KCC to deal with these ponds which appear even after moderate rainfall.
