From Tonbridge to Helsinki

The first winter snow is falling in Helsinki where I'm speaking at the special Assembly of the international European Movement to mark the end of Finland's year of Presidency of the movement.

Another speaker today presented a case study of the net economic benefits that have accrued to Finland through its EU membership. These include an increase in GDP per capita of about 1.5%, an increase in average household income of around Euros 1,250 per annum and an increase of 1.4% in the labour force through new jobs.

We enjoyed a very warm welcome despite the cold temperatures outside. Other delegates from all over Europe are incredulous at the self-harm we are inflicting through Brexit. December 12 offers us a chance to End Brexit for good.
